Project Overview
IFI was appointed to support Southern Housing on Glengall Road Phase 1, a higher-risk residential building requiring structured fire protection input from design development through to completion, occupation and post-completion remedial support.
Our role covered the overall inspection management process, review and approval of passive fire protection details, inspection of site works and preparation of final sign-off reporting.
IFI also supported the pre-occupation fire risk assessment process and subsequent fire protection remedial works, assisting the client in managing fire safety matters through to close-out.
Scope of Services
IFI’s role included:
- RIBA Stage 3 design and strategy review support
- RIBA Stage 4 review of passive fire protection details
- RIBA Stage 5 site inspection management
- RIBA Stage 6 completion and final sign-off reporting
- RIBA Stage 7 post-completion remedial support
- Review and approval of fire protection details
- Inspection of fire stopping, compartmentation and fire protection interfaces
- Fire door and doorset inspection support
- Pre-occupation fire risk assessment support
- Remedial works tracking and close-out reporting
- Review of evidence for project completion and handover
Project Outcome
IFI provided Southern Housing with a structured fire protection inspection and reporting process across RIBA Stages 3–7, supporting design review, construction-phase quality control, completion evidence and post-completion remedial close-out.
